About the Host

This Jamboree would not be what its without our host, Alex Mays.  With early roots in blues and southern rock, Alex has transcended genre boundaries. He could never settle for one kind of music, and believes strongly in keeping music true and from the heart.  His performance styles range from unplugged acoustic solo act to full bands drawn from a collective of like-minded musicians.  It has been said by his fans that his music will take you far away to a distant land.

Blues-Centric Eclectic Music Jam

The Jamboree jam embraces a blues-centric yet eclectic diverse repertoire, creating a unique atmosphere for all participants. It uses a more informal version of the traditional circle jam approach, fostering a collaborative spirit among participants.

Cooperation Over Competition

In this setting, musicians work together rather than compete against one another. This collaboration elevates each performance, allowing everyone to shine. The focus is on the ensemble, and creating a supportive environment where creativity can flourish.
